My journey with the hurdy-gurdy began in 2020. I was enchanted by its full sound and keyboard mechanics, thanks to which pure tones are created. The assembly of this instrument is not unified, which offers freedom in design and materials used. Since I have a technical and artistic education and a love of music, I built one such musical instrument.

The prototype was a success, and I was thrilled with its sound. I decided to create a model that would be suitable for a wide range of players at an affordable price. The planned hurdy-gurdy was to have good sound, a modern design and easy tuning. Several years of searching for suitable materials, technical solutions and design followed. Many prototypes were created.

In this model, I used both modern and traditional materials. I combined precise machine and delicate hand-crafted hurdy-gurdy. For instance, I’ve used durable, affordable plywood for the body and keyboard mechanism, but for the wheel rim I used pear wood, proven over the centuries. The created model met all my expectations. I believe that this instrument will please a wide range of musicians and enthusiasts.
